Purtle Park Adventure Playground
Yonder and collaborating landscape architects Emerge Associates worked closely with the community reference group and Federation Council to shape the vision for Mulwala's premier playspace, Purtle Park which would provide a range of experiences for all ages and abilities with a strong focus on providing for the needs of neuro-divergent children.
The design is inspired by the landscape of Lake Mulwala, as it winds from the billabongs and redgum forest of Bundalong changing to the man made forms of the weir and irrigation canals. The sky walk play structure evokes Mulwala’s crooked bridge, the low entry wall reinterprets the Mulwala weir, while the water play area is a take on the irrigation infrastructure which supports the surrounding agriculture industry.
