New Junior School, The Scots School Albury

The design approach sought to reinforce the existing landscape of formal lawn and mature deciduous trees, and provide spaces for formal learning, social interaction and connection to nature. A seamless transition from interior to exterior was important where the materiality and forms of the interior continue into the landscape. Two distinct playspaces were included : the ‘Magical Fairy Garden’ - an immersive space for creative play, especially for the kindergarten students, and the Junior Playground - a mix of propriety product and natural materials for many students of all ages to use at one time.
