West Albury Preschool Centre
The new water education garden at West Albury Preschool Centre teaches children, through play, that water is finite resource to be used with respect and responsibility.
Water spills from three kid-scale tanks down a series of rills to a central pond with a pump, and from here the water is treated as is travels through planting to eventually soak away into the groundwater.
A yarning circle with a central fire pit provides an intimate space for children to sing, cook and tell stories together. Rock terracing has been installed under the existing eucalypts to better define the digging pit and address the steep slope.
